Geographic Information Systems

Geographic Information System (GIS) software is an integral part of modern aquatic and terrestrial data collection and analysis. GIS can provide government bodies, scientists, engineers and architects with a digital database incorporating most aspects of a project. A GIS system could possess environmental data such as habitat locations, the results of geophysical/environmental surveys, infrastructure roads/services outfalls etc., political and social boundaries and photographic and video imagery, in an easy to view/export structure.
MERC Consultants specialises in heritage and natural resource applications using Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
Applications for this data have included marine and terrestrial habitat mapping, urban and rural planning, assessing spatial and temporal variation in vegetation, environmental and natural resource assessment and environmental impact assessment

Data can be in the format of a shape (GIS), imagery and CAD files and are seamlessly incorporates into reports, Microsoft PowerPoint and additional software packages.
